CPG celebrates 18th Birthday

Central Prayer Group (Torch Bearers), celebrated 18th Birthday on February 6th (last sunday)at St. Mary's School Auditorium.

CET Jesus Youth Reconstitution

Reconstitution of CET Jesus Youth core group was held at Maria Rani Center on 6th Feb Sunday, 2011. A new 10 member core team has been formed by prayer and desernment.
Commissioning of the new core was done on the same day.

Ephphatha 11 - Mar Baselios College

"Ephphatha 11", a one day was organised by the Jesus Youth of ' Mar Baselios College group' for all the youth of our college. This was the first initative by our college 'jesus youth' group. It was held at the college it self,Trivandrum on the 30th January, 2011 from morning 8.45am- 4.30pm. Around 160 youth attended the program(including some students from other colleges).

Aux. Bishop SAMUEL IRENIOS KATTUKALLI, Mr.Tomas Micheal , Mrs. Soney Noble and Fr Rev Fr Wilson Thattaruthundil (our bursar)were the main resources for the program.


Aux. Bishop SAMUEL IRENIOS KATTUKALLI spoke to the youth with an good talk and also blessed us with his presence for the inauguration.

The music ministry really kept the participants tapping their feet.
Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr Rev Fr Wilson Thattaruthundil .

A good session in the morning was taken by Mr.Tomas micheal about the topic “Love of Jesus”
And a good afternoon session was taken by Mrs. Soney Noble about “Jesus youth and our campus”
In preparation of this program, the Jesus Youth of our college had round the clock intercession for 2 weeks, which we believe was the
backbone of the success of the program. As the participants left the hall in the evening, they were really filled with the joy of the Lord. Our faith has surely strengthened. We enjoyed the whole day with our lord jesus in prayers and happyness.

One Hour Adoration

Jesus Youth team has Lead one hour Adoration at St. Jude Church, Killipalam. It was really a blessing for us to be a part of the ongoing feast celebrating at St. Jude Church. We thank Fr. Paul Sunny, Parish Priest who is also the youth director for inviting Jesus Youth to lead the adoration.

Late Evening Mass - Jesus Youth

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Its been a great blessing for all of us as Archbishop has given us special sanction to have a late evening mass at Vellayambalam Chruch at 7.30 PM Mon-Fri. This late evening mass is mainly inteded to those who have odd working hours and miss their daily mass. We encourage all Jesus Youth to be at Vellayambalam church on week days to join this Eucharistic Celebration.

We have about 35-40 people regularly attending this Holy Mass.
Please do utilize this opportunity and never miss a daily Mass.

CET - Encounter Program

After a long gap professional minitry has waken up at CET. Half day encounter program conducted for CET freshers attracted 40 students from the College. Program was help at St. Joseph Church (Emmaus) on 21st September.

Professionals Core Group commissioning

Trivandrum Jesus Youth professional college Jesus Youth core team commissioning took place at St. Jude's church. Fr. Paul Sunny, Animator Jesus Youth prayed for each team member.

More than 50 students from different professional colleges participated in the whole day event.

Late Evening Mass - Trivandrum

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

It’s been a long time desire of many to have a late evening daily Holy Mass in Trivandrum. Many have suggested that due to their long working hours, especially those working in Technopark, is hindering the Daily Mass. Considering this we have approached the RC (Latin) diocese of Trivandrum. Archbishop Rev. Dr. Soosa Pakiam has taken special interest in our request and assigned Parish Priest of Vellayambalam to take this forward.

The tentative time fixed for evening Mass is 7.30 PM from Monday to Friday at St. Therese of Lisieux church, Vellayambalam.
Now since the initiative of this daily mass is from Jesus Youth of Trivandrum, we have to really support this initiative and should encourage maximum people to attend this Mass.
Please send in your comments on this initiative as we need to fix a date to start this Daily Mass.

All Saints College Trivandrum 3 day Annual Retreat

Annual college retreat of All Saints College Trivandrum was conducted last week by Jesus Youth. More than 600 college students attended the 3 day retreat. There was sepereate extended retreat for bording students.

Holy Angels School Retreat Trivandrum

Holy Angels school retreat organized by 'Angels Army' has concluded yesterday. Around 500 students from 6th to 12th participated in this retreat. We would like to thank the school management and the whole retreat team who has joined hands with Jesus Youth to organize this retreat and make it such a success.

Zonal Leaders Retreat

Trivandrum Zonal Leaders retreat started at Anugraha Bhavan, Menamkulam, Trivandrum.
More than expected we have around 100 participants.

The retreat is lead by Grace Maria Team which includes Brother Shajimon and Bro. Shiju.

The retreat will conlude on Sunday 4th October 2009.

Lent has begun!

Dear Friend,

Lent has started now. 40 days of intense fasting and prayer.
I wish you all the best to observe this lent meaningfully.

Lenten fasts have a tendency to be oriented toward things like giving up food or television.
But there are many other creative ways we can welcome Jesus' healing touch this Lent.

Below are some suggestions you may want to consider and tell others too:

Fast from:
Anger and Hatred:
Give your family and everyone you come across ,an extra dose of love Each day.

Judging Others:
Before making any judgments, recall how Jesus overlooks our faults.

Discouragement:
Hold on to Jesus' promise that He has a perfect plan for your life.

Complaining:
When you find yourself about to complain, close your eyes And recall some of the little moments of joy Jesus has given you.

Resentment or Bitterness:
Work on forgiving those who may have hurt you.

I pray for you during this special Season of Grace.
May God give you more Grace.

The following is the message of the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI for this year lent.
I am sending you this, so that you may benefit by reading this and make use of this message in for many occasions

Note: The number forty has many Biblical references: the forty days Moses spent on Mount Sinai with God (Exodus 24:18); the forty days and nights Elijah spent walking to Mount Horeb (1 Kings 19:8); God made it rain for forty days and forty nights in the days of Noah (Genesis 7:4); the Hebrew people wandered forty years traveling to the Promised Land (Numbers 14:33); Jonah in his prophecy of judgment gave the city of Nineveh forty days in which to repent (Jonah 3:4).

Jesus retreated into the desert, where he fasted for forty days, and was tempted by the devil (Matthew 4:1-2, Mark 1:12-13, Luke 4:1-2). Jesus overcame all three of Satan's temptations by citing scripture to the devil, at which point the devil left him, angels ministered to Jesus, and he began his ministry. Jesus further said that his disciples should fast "when the bridegroom shall be taken from them" (Matthew 9:15), a reference to his Passion. Since, presumably, the Apostles fasted as they mourned the death of Jesus, Christians have traditionally fasted during the annual commemoration of his burial.
